Terms of Use

Last updated:

These Terms of Use cover the Memi language-learning app and related services. You can contact us at [email protected]. By using Memi, you agree to these terms, subject to rights that applicable law gives you.

1. Using Memi

Memi helps you study languages through videos, captions, vocabulary discovery, flashcards, speaking practice, and optional Study Lock features. Supported languages, content, and features may vary by device, region, plan, and service availability. Memi is an educational tool; we do not promise a particular fluency level, exam result, or learning outcome.

You must be legally able to agree to these terms. Where applicable law requires a parent or guardian’s permission, obtain it before using the service. These service terms supplement the license for the iOS app. Unless a separate valid custom app license applies, the app license is Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These terms do not change your agreement with Apple.

2. Your account

Account features use Sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple account and device secure, provide accurate information when contacting us, and notify us if you believe someone has accessed your Memi account without permission. You are responsible for activity you authorize on your account. Do not share accounts to evade usage limits.

Signing out or uninstalling the app does not cancel an Apple subscription or necessarily delete server-held learning data. To request account deletion or help with your data, contact [email protected]. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle information.

3. Free access and Memi Pro

Memi offers free access and optional auto-renewing Memi Pro subscriptions. The paywall and Apple purchase confirmation show the available products, currency, recurring price, and billing period. Your App Store storefront determines pricing. Promotional monthly products may have their own recurring monthly price; they are not a free trial unless explicitly identified as one.

We may update plans and allowances for future use, with notice where required. Apple’s procedures apply to subscription price changes. We will not charge you for a new paid plan without the required authorization.

4. Content, AI, and recordings

YouTube and other third-party content belong to their respective owners. Memi does not grant permission to reproduce or distribute that content. Your use of third-party services is also subject to their terms. YouTube playback, captions, availability, and account behavior can change independently of Memi.

AI-generated explanations, translations, examples, and vocabulary may contain mistakes. Check important information with reliable sources. Do not submit sensitive personal information or material you are not entitled to process. You allow us and our service providers to process the text and context needed to deliver the learning features you request, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You keep rights you hold in your own recordings and other original material. You permit processing necessary to provide features you choose, such as speech practice or exporting a clip. Before recording or sharing content, obtain any required permission from other people and rights holders. Exporting or sharing a clip does not transfer third-party rights to you.

Study Lock uses Apple’s Screen Time permissions to apply the restrictions you select. It is a learning aid, not a safety, parental-control, or emergency system. Keep access to essential apps available and use device settings to manage or revoke permissions when needed.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Memi to break the law, infringe rights, harass people, distribute harmful material, interfere with other users, compromise accounts or infrastructure, or bypass purchase verification or usage limits. Do not automate requests, scrape restricted content, or resell access without permission. This restriction does not limit activity that applicable law expressly permits.

6. Availability and ending access

We may maintain, improve, or modify the service. Features that depend on a network, AI provider, YouTube, Apple, or device permissions may be temporarily unavailable. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security incidents, unpaid access, or legal requirements. Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and a way to contact us.

You may stop using Memi at any time. Contact us for account-deletion requests and cancel subscriptions separately with Apple. If we discontinue a paid service, applicable consumer rights and Apple’s billing and refund processes continue to apply.

7. Responsibility and your rights

We aim to provide a useful and reliable learning service, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free AI output, or continued availability of third-party content. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without additional promises beyond those expressly made.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer guarantees. We do not limit your right to remedies that mandatory law provides. Disputes are subject to applicable law, including mandatory protections and any court rights available in your place of residence; these terms do not impose a mandatory arbitration requirement or waive those rights.

8. Changes and contact

We may revise these terms as the service changes. We will identify the updated date and give additional notice where required. If you do not agree to revised terms, you may stop using the service; existing purchases remain subject to applicable law and Apple’s terms.
